Dr Rochelle Spencer
Rochelle is the founding Co-Director of the Centre for Responsible Citizenship and Sustainability at Murdoch University. She is a development anthropologist with twenty years of experience working with NGOs in East Africa, Cuba, and Southern Africa. Currently, Rochelle’s research with smallholder farmers in Malawi and Zambia focuses on applying participatory approaches to the design, implementation, and evaluation of development interventions that help to inform technical expertise, development programming, and policy-making. At the heart of Rochelle’s research endeavours is ensuring the inclusion of local perspectives in development processes.
