Josephine is a well experienced Rwandan professional, working as a Country Director of ActionAid International Rwanda since 2010. She has a wide practice in Strategic Leadership, Programme development, Business and policy analysis, advocacy and rights promotion. She has served in various senior leadership positions in various organisations in Africa in Social and Economic Development sector. Josephine has experience in Business Development, Strategic planning and development, Organisational Development, Programme Design, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
Josephine has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Maastricht School of Management, specialising in Project Management. She is a Social Worker by professional and has served in different capacities in the Social development sector with special focus on Women and Children Rights for over 20 years. She is a member of the World Foundation for children and alumnae of Global Leaders Institute (2009). Is an Active promoter of positive living and fight against HIV/AIDS as a Member of the International AIDS Society (IAS).
Josephine is a Feminist and Women Rights Activist. She is among the founder members of MOGAR, an association of women leaders that is championing Girl child education in Rwanda. She has served on Boards of Organisations serving the vulnerable and promoting rights of women. She is passionate and committed to advocating for Gender Equality policies. She is people oriented and has a passion for the vulnerable people living in poverty and affected by injustice based on personal experience of living in exile for more than 35 years, as a refugee denied of rights to access and live in Rwanda, her home country.
